O Christmas Tree

Eye-level view of a serene forest path leading into the sunlight

Dear Faith Family,

She will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins, (Matthew 1:21).

On a hill far away stood an old Christmas tree

an emblem for all to see

And I see that old tree where the dearest and best

For a world of lost sinners was slain

Oh that old Christmas tree, so disguised by the world

Has a curious attraction for me

For the dear Lamb of God left His glory

above to bear it not in vain

In the old Christmas tree now adorned with His blood

A wondrous beauty I see

For twas on that old tree Jesus suffered and died

My sin on Him had been lain

Round the old Christmas tree His bride we shall be

It's shame and reproach gladly bear

Then he'll call us some day to our home far away

Where his glory forever will reign

I’ll rejoice at the old Christmas tree

Till my trophies at last I lay down

I will cling to the Christ off the cross

And exalt the One bearing the crown

Merry Christmas,

Pastor Karl
